Had a hoot making this

Owls and cupcakes seem to be all the rage in crafting this year. I couldn't wait to try out my cricut and combine it with one of the current trends. The owl is from the latest "give a hoot" cricut cartridge. I have given him googly eyes just for extra effect.
I made the card for someones birthday on C.T.com.

February Challenge using my cuttlebug

This card I made for a fellow crafter on CT, the challenge was to use your cuttlebug or flowers, so I have tried to include both themes.

The stamped image is a penny black stamp, which I have coloured in with pro markers, and used glitter dust on the wings. I have stamped it onto a scalloped square which I have shaded in with an ink pad. The orange card has been embossed with a daisy print through my bug, and I have applied stickles on some of the daisys to enhance them. The flowers are from the amazing petaloos which I adore.

Love is in the air, or at least on the card

Wow 2 posts in one night, well it took me a week to find the camera charger, hence the delay in posting my cards over the last week. This card is the 2nd card I made for my OH for Valentines. The first one I gave to him, just to tell him how I much I love him, but forgot to take a picture of it. This card was a simple but effective card, and as for some reason everycard I make him is black adn red, I decided to keep this card a nice pale shade of pink, with the bold red heart placed with 3d foam pads to give it some depth.

My Friend Anna's 30th

Unfortunately I couldn't make Anna's party, so I wanted to make sure that I made her a card to remember. The one thing I will never forget about our friendship is the excitement over Sophie Kinsella's shopoholic book series, so this Penny Black stamp was a perfect choice for me. I

have coloured her in with Copic markers and added some glossy accents on her bag and her earings to give her a bit of sparkle.

She has been cut out and stuck on some nestability oval frames (both plain and scalloped). The background is some lovely daisy embossed card, which I have created using my new daisy embossing folder in my bug. The 30 and border on the left have been my first creations with my new cricut expression machine. And then to finish some ribbon, gems and flowers for that finishing touch.

Crikey Cricut and a new beginning

Well firstly I suppose I should say hello to everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read my blog. This is a whole new experience for me, and I am hoping that over time I will not only improve but be brave enough to enter some of the challenges, which leads me on to a whole other challenge......

On Friday, I decided to take a few hours off work to go home and have some quality time crafting. As it was daylight, I decided to got the "scenic route", by scenic I mean past a craft shop. Having poodled aound the shop, and ended up spending £50 on "bits and bobs" I needed ... well come on don't we always need it. The ladies in the shop are lovely, and I was the only customer remaining, we happened to be talking about a cricut demo they were having the following day, sadly for me the shop is not actually close to home. Anyway this lead on to how much I wanted a pink expression, and low and behold, the fairy godmother, (ok the shop assistant) produced one, and told me about the special offer they were doing, and they only had 2 left.

I spoke to OH to get "approval", who had no issues, its for me to live with my self were his actual words. I then spent the rest of the day just staring at the box, too guilty to get it out and play with it.

Thanks to the forum members of CT, they made me realise that my guilt was not time well spent, and yesterday I unpackaged my wonderful machine, and spent much of the day absorbed in delight.

Once I have finished the cards I am making, I will post them to my blog. I am hoping the addition of my cricut will help me build up the confidence to get more involved in scrapbooking.

Well thank you for reading my first post, I must get back to my cricut.

Happy Crafting
